What Is It?
The Wolf Tooth GoatLink 11 is a derailleur hanger extension designed specifically for certain 11-speed Shimano mountain bike rear derailleurs. It repositions the rear derailleur to improve shifting performance when using larger-range cassettes, allowing riders to run bigger sprockets without immediately replacing their derailleur.
How It Works
The GoatLink 11 installs between the frame's derailleur hanger and the rear derailleur.
By changing the derailleur's mounting position, it:
- Moves the derailleur into a more optimal position relative to large cassette cogs.
- Improves guide pulley clearance on larger sprockets.
- Increases chain wrap and reduces unsupported chain length in many wide-range cassette setups.
- Helps maintain better shifting performance than simply winding out the B-tension screw.
Important: The GoatLink 11 provides clearance for larger cassettes but does not increase derailleur capacity. Total drivetrain capacity limits still apply.
