What Is It?
The Wahoo KICKR 12x142 Thru Axle Adapter is a replacement adapter setup that allows a bicycle with a 12x142mm rear thru-axle to be securely mounted to compatible Wahoo KICKR smart trainers.
For KICKR v4 (2018), KICKR v5 (2020) and KICKR CORE, Wahoo uses a drive-side Adapter C together with a non-drive-side 12x142mm Adapter D, while the bicycle's own thru axle secures the frame to the trainer.

Wahoo's current KICKR Thru Axle Kit includes adapters for both 12x142 and 12x148mm configurations, as well as the drive-side spin cap and Shimano/SRAM freehub lock nuts.
Important Compatibility Note
There is an important distinction with KICKR v3 (2017). Wahoo states that its updated 142mm adapters are not compatible with KICKR v3. Some 2020-era bicycle frames also required an updated adapter arrangement because manufacturers changed their thru-axle interfaces.
For a standard 12x142mm bike on a compatible KICKR/Core, the setup uses the 142mm non-drive-side adapter, with the arrow pointing inward, plus the drive-side adapter. The bike's own thru axle is then tightened to the bicycle manufacturer's specified torque.
Best suited for: road, gravel and MTB bikes with a 12x142mm rear thru axle that need to be mounted on a compatible Wahoo KICKR or KICKR CORE trainer.
