What it is
A “bacon strip / slug” tyre plug system that lets you seal punctures in tubeless tyres on the trail or roadside.
Instead of replacing a tube, you insert a rubber plug directly into the hole.
Feature breakdown
“Can pre-load two different sized slugs”
- You can load plugs in advance so they’re ready instantly
- Speeds up repairs when you’re out riding
“Yellow C-clip prevents sticking”
- Holds plugs in place before insertion
- Stops them from getting stuck in the tool or caps
Makes the system cleaner and easier to use
“Seals to keep dust and debris out”
- The tool is designed to stay closed/protected
- Prevents dirt from clogging the mechanism
Important for reliability on dusty trails
“Opening for Presta core removal”
- Lets you remove a Presta valve core
- Useful for:
- Faster air release
- Adding sealant
- Seating tubeless tyres with airflow
“Two needle widths”
- Thin and thick insertion needles
- Matches different plug sizes (small vs large punctures)
“Includes 10 slugs (1.5mm & 3.5mm)”
- These are the rubber repair strips
- You insert them into the hole to block air loss
- Different sizes for:
- Small punctures (1.5mm)
- Larger cuts (3.5mm)
How it works (simple)
- Find puncture in tubeless tyre
- Insert plug using the needle tool
- Pull it halfway through the hole
- Trim excess rubber
- Pump tyre back up → sealant + plug seal it
Pros
- Fast roadside puncture repair
- No need to remove tyre or install tube
- Works well for thorn or small cut punctures
- Compact and portable
- Essential for tubeless riders
⚠️ Cons
- Not suitable for large sidewall tears
- Requires tubeless tyres (won’t work with inner tubes)
- Needs some practice for clean insertion
- Temporary fix in some severe cases
Bottom line
This is a must-have emergency repair kit for tubeless cycling. It turns a ride-ending puncture into a 2–5 minute fix.
If you ride tubeless, this is one of the most important tools you can carry—more useful than most spare parts in a saddle bag.
