What it is
This is a 28-tooth BMX freestyle front chainring (sprocket). It mounts on your crank and drives the rear wheel through a single-speed BMX drivetrain.
It’s slightly more “speed-oriented” than the more common 25T freestyle setups.
Key specs explained
⚙️ 28T tooth count
- “28T” = 28 teeth on the chainring
- Compared to a 25T:
- ✔ Higher top speed
- ✔ Slightly harder acceleration
- ✔ Better for flowing park riding or longer street cruising
Simple way to think about it:
- 25T = quicker, more technical
- 28T = smoother, faster cruising
Disc-style freestyle design
- Solid or near-solid plate shape
- Benefits:
- Resists bending under impact
- Protects chain during grinds
- Less chance of snagging on rails/ledges
- Built for street and park abuse
BMX chain compatibility
- Works with standard 1/2” x 1/8” chains
- Designed for single-speed BMX drivetrains only
⚙️ Crank compatibility
Bravvos designs this to fit:
- 1-piece BMX cranks
- 3-piece BMX cranksets (with proper bolt mount/BCD compatibility)
Material (steel or basic alloy)
- Steel → heavier but very durable
- Alloy → lighter but less impact-resistant
- Both are budget-grade, prioritising affordability over weight savings
Where it fits best
- BMX freestyle (street, park, light dirt)
- Riders who want a bit more speed than 25T setups
- Entry-level bikes needing a durable replacement sprocket
- Commuter-style BMX setups
