What it actually is

This is a fast-evaporating solvent cleaner—think of it like a workshop degreaser + brake cleaner hybrid.

It’s designed to:

  • Strip away oil, grease, brake dust, soot
  • Leave no residue
  • Dry very quickly so parts can be reassembled immediately

Where it’s best used

This is a prep/cleaning product, not a lubricant:

  • Brake components (discs, calipers)
  • Engine parts before assembly
  • Gearboxes, housings, metal fittings
  • Industrial machinery maintenance
  • Cleaning parts before applying sealants or coatings

Because it’s NSF-certified, it can even be used in food-processing environments (on machinery—not food itself).

How it compares to your other Würth products

  • Würth Rost-Off Ice
    → For loosening seized/rusted parts
  • Würth Multi Oil Cobra 400ml
→ For lubrication, protection, light cleaning
  • Assembly Cleaner
→ For deep cleaning and degreasing before/after work

In a workshop, these three are often used together, not as substitutes.

Key strengths (in practical terms)

  • Very strong degreasing power → cuts through stubborn grime fast
  • Fast evaporation → no wiping needed in many cases
  • No residue → ideal before reassembly or bonding
  • Metal-safe → works on steel, aluminum, brass, etc.

Important limitations (don’t ignore these)

  • ❌ Not for adhesive surfaces (can weaken bonding areas)
  • ❌ Can affect some plastics, rubber, paint → always test first
  • ❌ Not a lubricant → parts will be “dry” afterward
  • ❌ Highly flammable → use with ventilation

Typical workflow (real-world use)

  1. Spray cleaner onto dirty part
  2. Let contaminants run off
  3. Wipe if necessary
  4. Allow to dry (usually seconds)
  5. Then:
    • Lubricate (with Multi Oil Cobra), or
    • Assemble, or
    • Apply threadlocker/sealant

Bottom line

This is a professional-grade cleaning solvent—essentially:

“Step 1: Clean everything properly before doing anything else.”

If you’re working on mechanical parts, this is often more important than the lubricant itself.
